LIVING ITEM IN STYLE
Living Item in Style was a project for the Lifestyle & Media course. I followed a full design process: research, persona development, concepting, sketching, and creating one physical and one digital product. This case study shows how my ideas evolved from research to final designs.
PERSONAS
We started with two fictional characters: Eleonora van Baerle and Tim.
Detailed lifestyle descriptions helped me create clear personas that guided all creative decisions.

I created two moodboards to visualize their personal style:

Eleonora: trend-focused, stylish, modern materials

Tim: introverted, practical, calm, function over trends
CONCEPT & SKETCHING
The goal was to design two interior items: one physical, one digital.
During sketching, Eleonora’s style inspired the strongest ideas.

ELEONORA'S PRODUCT
After feedback and iteration, I decided to create fabric flowers for Eleonora.
Materials: bamboo sticks, old denim jeans, curtain fabric, and hot glue.

TIM'S PRODUCT
For Tim, I made a semi-realistic digital mockup in Photoshop based on my sketches.

MAGAZINE SPREAD
As an extra task, I created a magazine spread featuring my product.
This allowed me to combine editorial design with product presentation.

Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to translate research into clear visual concepts. It taught me to make intentional design decisions based on personas.
