BURNING HOUSE
The Burning House project started with a single photo that sparked an entire creative journey. In this section, I’ll take you through my process—from the initial research to countless sketches and iterations. Through deep exploration and refining ideas, I dedicated a lot of time and effort to developing a unique and stylish home item. This project taught me how important it is to dive into details, experiment with concepts, and transform inspiration into a tangible design.
PROCES

What would you take with you if your room caught on fire? That was the first question of this new assignment. The task was to create a flat lay of the most cherished items from our own rooms.
Would you choose essentials for survival, or items with sentimental value? Here’s what I gathered.
The next step was to choose one item from our flat lay and research it further. I chose my Vogue magazines because they are a major source of inspiration for my own magazine creations.

Sketching, sketching, and more sketching. Now, we had to draw different objects related to Vogue, the item I chose. I’ve always been good at coming up with ideas, but I also had to keep in mind that I would probably need to turn one of them into a real object. In the end, I sketched eight different ideas and selected three of them to refine with more details.
After sketching, we immediately moved on to creating the objects. I chose to make a reading lamp, perfect for reading Vogue.
I built the lamp using strong iron wire, which I wrapped in clay. I secured the lamp and the small book with a hot glue gun. The paint I used had great coverage and dried very quickly. To add an extra Vogue touch, I placed the logo on the cover of the tiny book.

Now that we have a product to showcase, we need to attract people to actually buy it. To do that, good photos and advertisements are essential.
So that’s exactly what I did! I created these ads using Illustrator and Photoshop.
To take it a step further, I also created mock-ups to showcase my advertisements. I chose a poster in the middle of the city and a magazine ad because they perfectly match my product.

The final step in this entire process was to present our work in an expo. I was given a stand that I could customize however I wanted to showcase my object.
And that marked the end of the journey! I really enjoyed this assignment because it combined both graphic design and hands-on crafting— two things I love.
