BRANDING
Branding is all about creating a strong and recognizable identity for a business. In this section, you'll find a big project I'm working on for a very special company, where I explored how to shape a brand’s visual and conceptual identity. I’m excited to expand this collection with more big projects!
MY FIRST BRANDING PROJECT
For my elective Create Your Own Brand, I wanted to work on something personal. That’s when I came up with the idea to rebrand my mother’s small business, the Snoepkoets. Together we created a new sub-brand called Snoep & Zo, a playful and modern extension of Leuk & Zo. This gave me the chance to design a complete brand identity – from logo and style guide to media outputs.
I started by researching the target audience, competitors, and current trends in candy branding. I created a detailed mind map and explored ideas through sketches. This phase helped me think about brand values, visual identity, packaging, and possible media outputs. The research gave me a solid foundation to design a brand that feels both nostalgic and modern.
You can reed the whole research in my process book, which you can find in the end of this page.

The next step was creating the logo and style guide. I chose soft pastel colors combined with gold and dark gray accents, to give the brand a look that is sweet yet modern. The logo was inspired by the shape of a candy label, making it playful but also recognizable. The style guide then became the backbone for all following designs, ensuring consistency and coherence.

With the style guide in place, I designed several media outputs. I started with the packaging, followed by posters, a price list, and even a paper bag as a sustainable alternative to plastic. By creating mock-ups, I was able to visualize how the designs would look in real life. Together, these outputs form a cohesive identity that perfectly matches the playful and inviting feel of Snoep & Zo.

Process book
During this project I had to make a book that explained every little detail about my research and design choices and would get graded on that. But I also got graded for a presentation. To look more professional during my presentation I printed out some of my mock-ups and made real versions out of my packaging, this really helped me stand out.

This project taught me how fun and valuable it is to build a brand from the ground up. I learned how important research, concept development, and a clear style guide are in creating a strong and consistent identity. Most of all, I enjoyed seeing how everything – from sketches to mock-ups – came together into a professional and recognizable brand. I look forward to many more branding projects!
